The academic year 2017 – 18 onwards CBSE has revised CCE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation) system of examination and introduced a new system of Evaluation.  According to that Classes Nursery to class V will have three independent terms having 100 marks each.  Classes VI to VIII will have two terms of 100 marks each and each term will have one periodic test. Classes IX & X will have one Pre-mid Term, Mid Term, Post Mid Term and Annual Exam. (IX & X annual exam will be conducted by CBSE.) Please see the detailed description given below:

                                                                   Nursery to V

• There will be a unit test at the last week of every month, for all main subjects.
• Nursery to class V will have three independent terms having 100 marks each.
• Life skills examination for classes 1 – 3 shall be Oral. For other classes it will be written examination for 50 marks.
• Nursery to V will have following marking scheme for each term:

Classes VI - VIII

• There will be a unit test at the last week of every month, for all main subjects.
• Class VI to VIII will have two terms of 100 marks each and each term will have one periodic test.
• Periodic test will be of 50 marks converted into 10% of it, 5% for note book completion and 5% for subject enrichment activities. (10 + 5 + 5 = 20%)
• Half yearly and Yearly Exam (Term – I & II) will have written exam for 80 marks.
• One has to secure 33% of marks separately  in both internal (20) and written (80) in all the main subjects. 
• From the Half year (Term – I) the following percentage of syllabus is carried to Yearly Exam (Term – II). (Subject Teachers will tell the students which are the chapters or contents carried to Term – II according to the syllabus.)
• Class VI: 10% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term.
• Class VII: 20% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term.
• Class VIII: 30% of 1st term covering significant topics + entire syllabus of 2nd term.
• Classes VI to VIII will have following marking scheme for each term:

Classes IX - X

• There will be a unit test at the last week of every month, for all main subjects.
• Class IX & X will have one Pre-mid Term , Mid Term, Post Mid Term and Annual Exam.
• In each above term Q.P will be of 50 marks converted into 10% of it, 5% for note book completion and 5% for subject enrichment activities. (10 + 5 + 5 = 20%)
• From these three terms, average of best two will be taken and converted in to 10%. See the detailed table below for each subject: (E-10 + F-5 + G -5 + H – 80 = I – 100)

Continuous and Comprehensive evaluation (CCE)


The continuous and comprehensive evaluation covers the entire range of academic year rather than the performance of the learner in a single window test. It also reduces the amount of stress and strain among the small children and make them free from the fear of examination. At present the school is implementing this method of evaluation.
